AEC ClassNet Conferences
Overview

2014

In 2014, the ASEF ClassNet included the following core activities: (1) Implementation of new ASEF ClassNet Projects. (2) Evaluation and shortlisting of the completed ASEF ClassNet Projects. (3) Conferment of the ASEF ClassNet Awards (October 2014) to 6 project groups in recognition for their outstanding achievement in advancing the principal objectives of the ASEF ClassNet. (4) Online submission of new ASEF ClassNet Project proposals for 2015. (5) Production and dissemination of the ASEF ClassNet quarterly e-newsletter.
 
 

2013

Themed "Creative Classrooms Go 4G: Teach Green, Learn Green, Act Green, Live Green". The 11th ASEF Classroom Network Conference was organised from 28 October to 1 November 2013 in Bali, Indonesia.

2012

The activities of the Asia-Europe Classroom Network include the evaluation of the completed projects from 2011 and the submission of new AEC projects for 2012. A total of twenty-five (25) AEC projects were implemented in 2012 and to be completed by end July 2013.

2011

Themed “Apps in Asian and European Classrooms! Unleashing Educational Creativity”, the 10th Asia-Europe Classroom Network Conference was organised from 7 to 11 November 2011 in Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland in collaboration with the County Louth Vocational Education Committee, supported by the Department of Education and Skills.

2010

The 9th Asia-Europe Classroom Network Conference was held from 12 to 16 November 2011 in collaboration with the St. Mark’s Senior Secondary Public School, Meera Bagh, with support from the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The theme of the conference was “Climate Change and Biodiversity: How They Are Connected and the Impact of Biodiversity Loss in the Community in Asia and Europe”.

2009

The 8th Asia-Europe Classroom Network Conference with the theme “The Impact of Climate Change and Sustainable Development Within the School Community in Asia and Europe” was organised in collaboration with the Sønderborg Municipalityfrom 26 to 30 October 2009 in Sønderborg, Denmark, with support from the Danish Ministry of Education, Hørup Centralskole, Nyborg Friskole and Herfølge Skole.

2008

The Seventh Conference was organised in collaboration with the Malaysian National Commission for UNESCO from 12 to 16 December 2008 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia with support from the Ministry of Education, the Sabah State Education Department, Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Sabah, Sabah Science Secondary School, Sabah College, Sanzac National Secondary School and the European Commission.

2006

The Sixth Conference was organised in collaboration with the Gymnasium of Livadia from 9 to 13 October 2006 in in Kerkini, Serres Prefecture, Greece, with support from the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Central Macedonia; the Hellenic Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs and the European Commission.

2005

The Fifth Conference was organised in collaboration with Beijing Jingshan School from 25 – 29 September 2005 in Beijing, China, with support by the Ministry of Education, China and the European Commission.

The Fourth Conference was organised in collaboration with Kreisgymnasium Neustadt from 27 September to 1 October 2004 in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, with the support of European Commission.

2003

The Third Conference was organised in collaboration with Madania School and the Department of National Education from 28 September to 2 October 2003 in Bogor, Indonesia, with the support from the European Commission.

The Second Conference was organised in collaboration with the National Board of Education, Finland and the Education Committee of the City of Tampere in Tampere, Finland from 11 to 14 September 2002.

2001

The First Conference was organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Singapore with support from the Raffles Girls’ School from 2 – 5 September 2001 in Singapore. This conference was a very significant pilot project that followed up on the seminar on the AEC held in Copenhagen in May 1998.
